Footsteps we follow...

Mahatma Gandhi

Seven deadly sins

Wealth without Work
Pleasure without Conscience
Science without Humanity
Knowledge without Character
Politics without Principle
Commerce without Morality
Worship without Sacrifice

These great words of The Apostle of Satyagraha, Sarvodaya and Ahimsa are the inspiration for all SCMLD processes.

Swami Vivekananda

Arise, Awake!

And stop not until the goal is reached

- Swami Vivekananda

This is what we follow and strive to trigger in all our students.

Bharat Ratna
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
Former President of India

Creative Leadership

Today, there are 540 million youth below 25 years in Indian population of a billion people. The nation needs young leaders who can steer the transformation of India into a developed nation and a knowledge society. It's the leaders who create new institutions of excellence. Quality leaders are like magnets; they attract the best persons to work for their vision and in turn give inspiring leadership even during failures of missions, since they are not afraid of taking risks. I have seen and worked with such creators of vision and missions.

In my interactions with the various organisations I worked for during the last five decades, I have found the following qualities to be of utmost importance for a creative leader:

• A leader must have a vision for the organisation
• A leader must be able to explore unchartered areas.
• A leader must know how to celebrate the success and manage the failures.
• A leader must have the courage to take decisions.
• A leader should exhibit nobility in management.
• A leader should be transparent.

-Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
in Business Today, 16th Anniversary issue, 13th January 2008

At the inaugural of 1st International Summit on Corporate Social Responsibility, 29-30th January 2008, Dr. Kalam said :

• Nations Economic development is powered by Competitiveness
• The Competitiveness is powered by Knowledge power.
• The Knowledge power is powered by Technology and innovation.
• The Technology and innovation is powered by Resource investment.

SCMLD follows these footsteps...

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Founder, Isha Foundation.

Stressing on “gentler economy” he said,

India doesn't need any more politicians. We need a leader who will make the country go forward and not try and stop it at every pretext. Helping the business community - whose role he believes will become more significant than politicians - to handle their new roles and responsibilities more carefully is something the world is now taking greater note of.

After all India is the land of entrepreneurs. I am sure people will come up with innovative solutions to problems.

Rabindranath Tagore

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where Knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led by thee into ever widening thought and action - into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

This is what we cherish at SCMLD

Netaji Subash Chandra Bose

Give your commitment and hard work without any shortcuts - we will make you employable / entrepreneur. It is our promise - SCMLD

Barack Obama President, USA

"A nation cannot prosper long when it favours only the prosperous - The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good....

....We need to.... “carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, the God given promise that all are equal, all are free, and deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness”.

Path to a nations greatness is not “for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labour - we have carried us up the long, rugged path toward prosperity and freedom”. He appealed to re-enshrine old world values of responsibility, work, sacrifice and service.... “those values upon which our success depends - hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quite force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now, is a new era of responsibility - a recognition that we have duties to ourselves, our nation and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task. This is the price and the promise of citizenship."

- The 44th President
of The United States of America
on 21st January, 2009.

SCMLD is an obscure grain of sand on the shores, in the vast seas and oceans... but these are our ideals and efforts too.... attempt to build an institution. How many leaders do we have - both old & young, to speak at least this way ?.....
