Volunteer students sent to participate in seminars elsewhere

SCMLD is not content with bringing experts to share their wisdom with the students. It sends students to learn from seminars / events / workshops held outside as well. For these 50% of the registration fees & full accommodation expenses are to be borne by the students. Rest of the expenses are met by the institute. This is to avoid confusion in selecting students to be sent and to avoid heartburns in students who are not able to go. Participating students are to share their learning with the entire class on their return so that everyone benefits.

• Rural Relations Village Camp - In two batches of 68 and 87 students of SCMLD spent one night and two days in villages - Bhor and Wai.
• 85 students of SCMLD attended the convention on "Financial Planning Services - Taking the next step" (FPSBI), on 1 Feb 08 at the Grant Hyatt, Mumbai.
• Faculty members of SCMLD attended the HR Summit 2008 on “Role of HR encouraging Industry Academia Relationship” organised by NASSCOM on 3rd and 4th July 2008 at Le Meridian, Chennai.
• 2 students of SCMLD attended FPSB's third Financial Planning congress held on 5th August 2008 at Hotel Intercontinental, New Delhi on “Financial Education for Indian Consumers whose responsibility is it?”
• 2 students of SCMLD attended CII conference held on 8th August 2008 at CII NR Headquarters, Chandigarh on “Sourcing India emerging as a global sourcing hub”.
• 2 students of SCMLD worked with Zensar Technologies in Performance & Management System and their reports were recognised in the NHRD Pune chapter meeting held on 21st November 2008 atLe Meridien, Pune.
• 4 students attended the 12th National Conference of NHRD Network on 28th & 29th November 2008 at Convention Centre Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai on “What is beyond? “ HR new Agenda.
• Student and faculty of SCMLD attended the “Role of HR in building Strategic Business Leadership” Organised by Institute of HRD on 18th & 20th December 2008 at Leela Palace, Bangalore.
• 5 Students of SCMLD attended the “Lean Management Congress - 2008” at Aurora Towers, Pune on 17th & 18th November 2008. Theme being “Lean Supply Chain Management for Competitive Edge”.
• 2 Faculty were sent to attend NASSCOM HR Summit in Royal Le Meridian, Chennai on 28th & 29th July, 2009.
• Five Students were sent to attend TIE-CON “Smart Entrepreneurship in Challenging Times” Delhi on 18th & 19th September, 2009.
• Two Faculty & Two Students were sent to attend Global Innovation Seminar on “Preparing for the Next wave: Innovation as a key Differentiator” Organized by AIMA in Mumbai on 6th & 7th November, 2009.
• Five Students & one Faculty were sent to attend the CII meet on “Building the Next Generation MSMEs” on 19th & 20th November 2009, Hotel Lalit, New Delhi.
• Five Students were sent to attend Franchise meet in Delhi on 26th & 27th November, 2009.
• Two Students & One faculty were sent to attend the TIE SME meet on 28th November at Hotel Sheraton, New Delhi, 2009.
• Ten Students & One Faculty were sent to attend the NHRD Annual Convention, theme being “Lead: From Uncertainty to Certainty” on 25th- 27th November, 2009 in Mumbai at Nehru Centre.
• 6 Students & 1 faculty were sent to attend TIE Entrepreneurial summit from 21st -23rd December at MMRDA Ground, Mumbai
.• 8 students were sent to work as a volunteer to TIE Entrepreneurial Summit from 21st -23rd December at MMRDA Ground, Mumbai.
.• Three faculty and five students were sent for the World HRD Congress to be held on 5th - 7th February 2009 at Mumbai.
Field surveys conducted
• Mach3 Turbo Sales Campaign in Pune city for Gillette India - 2005.
• Market Research to open new LABS for Dr. Reddy's Foundation in Jabalpur and Coimbatore - 2005.
• All India survey of corporate retail chains vis-a-vis traditional small shops (1200 establishments) - 2006.
• Survey of 30,000 households by 159 students of batch 2005 - 07, to understand their income, expenditure, Savings & consumption patterns- May to November 2006.
• Survey of 600 households by 72 Students for promoting Carotino Oil (Palm Oil) produced by Mantra Company, Nov 06.
• 10 students undertook a survey of 10,000 households for Reliance Retail in Pune - December 2006.
• Survey of 3900 households by 159 students of batch 2006 - 08, to understand their income, expenditure, Savings & consumption patterns- May 07.
• Survey of 10 Kirana shops, 2 malls and 25 households per student of Batch 2006-08, to understand their income, expenditure, savings & consumption patterns - during Diwali in October 2007.
• All India survey of corporate retail chains vis-a-vis traditional small shops (2720 establishments) - 2007.
• Out of the box activity - 84 students, Batch 2007 - 09 sold own products at street corners across Pune city on 27 Jan 08 to learn the difficulty of earning.
• 65 students of batch 2007-09 sold own products across Pune city on 13th March 2008.
• 75 students of batch 2008-09 (Bridge Programme) sold own products across Pune city on 18th May 2008.
• 230 students of batch 2008-09 sold own products across Pune city on 23rd Aug 2008.
• All students, of batch 2007-09 were send to earn Rs.250/- each on 30th December 2008 across Pune city to understand the difficulties involved in earning money.
